Recent data published by the Slovenian Labour Inspectorate and Occupational Safety Authority for 2025 reveal alarming inequalities in workplace safety. Although third-country national (TCN) workers represent only 16.2% of the total workforce in Slovenia, they account for 55.6% of all fatal workplace accidents. This means that foreign workers are 3.43 times more likely to die at work than the average employee. The findings clearly demonstrate the structural vulnerability of migrant workers in the labour market and reinforce concerns already highlighted in the report of the Slovenian Labour Inspectorate.
